19 of the Russian's 21 titles have been earned on hard courts
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev won his initial title for 882 days with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition title decider.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a challenging period, managing just one match at the big events and suffering a setback at the US Open.
Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in especial - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and ultimately splitting with long-term coach his previous coach.
Now collaborating with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently improved in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.
It is his initial championship after the Rome competition and initial on a hardcourt since that period of the previous year.
Success also signifies Medvedev has achieved 21 championships at 21 different events.
"It's the first time I have attended a event with my both daughters together, so to secure a championship is really nice," commented ranked player Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his previous six title deciders, comprising in the German tournament earlier this year.
The player's retrieving approach and frequent outbursts on court had prompted some to wonder if his ability to play at the highest level was over.
Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to approach the net and perform positively, backed up by an improved serving game.
The champion came back from a break down in the first set against the challenging opponent, taking four of the concluding five games to go ahead.
Both players swapped break points in the following set before the challenger, striving for his first professional championship, took control to push for a final set.
The opponent defended 4 early chances in a close deciding set before the Russian secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.
Appropriately, he secured the title with a rally at the net, with his opponent incapable to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
